Video transcript:

You think about, you know, wellness, wellness, retreat, spa. We wanted to be able to create a space where you could just chill out and relax. And so we’ve created with Jodi Morton, the interior designer, she helped the owner select some really wonderful furniture that tucks in underneath what I think is probably the most complicated, beautiful, challenging staircase we’ve ever worked on.

We have open risers and we don’t have a stringer or anything like that structurally because the treads all cantilever off that back wall. We have plenty of countertop space here, and then lots and lots of built-in storage. We’ve also taken the opportunity to do another cove light at the top of the cabinetry and also along the floor.

We really get this beautiful wash on this completely gorgeous quartzite slab. And what we love about it, is it picks up the colors of the cabinet. That was not an accident.

And it also plays into the fact that we have just a stained clear coat concrete floor. We haven’t treated the concrete in any way. We’re really trying to highlight the fact that it’s a natural material and we’re okay if it’s not perfect because we have other things in here that are perfect to counterbalance it.
