Hello, hello. This is Amy Berka from Scott Simpson Design + Build, and I am so excited to share this little jewel box of a project with you today. We’ve worked with these clients multiple times before, and it’s a privilege to be able to work with a client once, to be able to continually work with them on other things, it just shows a level of trust in us and our ability to design and build that we don’t take lightly.

These particular clients are stewards of architecture. They happen to live in a property just west of here, and they own this lot and have developed it into a sanctuary space.

We have a beautiful building behind me, which is technically a single family house. There’s a kitchen, there’s a bathroom, there’s a bedroom. But I think you’ll see when we go inside, I think of it as almost a spiritual place, almost a wellness retreat.

There is so much in there that makes you focus on just being still, being calm. It’s an indoor reinforcement of what happens out here in the garden where I can hear the koi pond, I can hear the wind in the trees, and it’s just really an exceptional space.
