Each of the powder rooms in the house, we approached as a vignette. It wasn’t just picking a slab and a tile and a vanity, it was how is that tile going to turn the corner? How is it going to meet with this other tile? How are the textures going to lay out? How is that going to lay out with the tile that’s on the floor? Cause it’s all larger format stuff, so it all had to be thought of a piece, and each room was its own little design vignette.

When we were laying out this room, it was not only two tiles, but it was how do those tiles come together? So, we introduced this metal schluter strip in the black finish, which unifies the light fixture and the mirror and the bath accessories all together, and the vanity that was selected in here also came with the black hardware. So, it’s using one metal throughout the space that unifies all these elements together.

These were an opportunity to introduce texture and wow into each room, but the cohesiveness of the house is the very simple trim and the very simple walls and color palette that ties it all together. You take that as an opportunity to do something that is different, that is your personality, you can do it into a small scale like that and have it be really cool and fun.
