This laundry room space has not changed a ton but has had great improvement. You’ll notice we have a pair of stacked washers and dryers. We stole this space as part of the bedroom-bathroom reconfiguration. Originally, the washer and dryer were small under-counter units that were not appropriate for a house that has eight bedrooms. So, all of the laundry can happen here.
Our master carpenter also built this lovely shelf for hang dry and other storage. In any project, we don’t want to get rid of things that are still functional and useful, and this cabinetry is in great shape—it has beautiful details, so we kept it. The washer and dryers that were under the counter we removed, we patched the flooring in. Now it’s a perfect place for two laundry hampers.
You’ll notice that there are Carrara countertops here, which is why we selected the Carrara in the bathroom next door, just to kind of keep that unified throughout.
