We are in the family room. It’s connected to the breakfast room and the kitchen, and this is probably the biggest transformation in this room of the house. Originally, there was a single door here to a gangway that went to nowhere. There was no access to the backyard, and it was just a metal deck. But now, these doors connect out through this balcony space to the patio, the grill, the pool beyond, and then our clubhouse addition.
We were able to have this great outdoor entertaining space, so you could watch the football game, swim in the pool, or play pickleball. And we do have a Nana door system on the actual clubhouse, so you could also be using the golf simulator at the same time. So, it’s really entertaining for everyone in the family—there’s something for everyone to do. This is directly off of the family room, it’s off of this clubhouse space that, you know, is sort of a pool house and all-seasons entertaining zone, and this space didn’t exist before.
When you can make a small change in the way someone experiences their day-to-day—and whether that’s fewer steps to the dishwasher, or a garage you can actually park in, or being able to see daylight from your family room—that’s what makes me happy at the end of the day.
