Hi, this is Tom Kenny with Scott Simpson Design Build and we’re looking down into what will be an 18-foot deep finished basement for a sport court. The guys are getting ready for an inspection. They’re keying in the footings by shoveling down the last bit of dirt and then they’re building the cage of steel, which is the number five steel rebar. They’re standing it up in the footing and that’s going to be the start of how we key the actual footing in the wall. As you watch these guys perform their work, you get a lot of respect for what they do. They’re doing a lot of math in their head. They’re reading the plans. They understand the structure. They’re doing strategies to make things go faster. They’re accountable to a certain amount of construction budget, and they’re working within that budget. It’s very impressive what they can do.
