We are in the porch here at our new house. The carpenters did a really great job of incorporating boards on the ceiling and the execution is excellent. We have a full kitchen out here. We have refrigeration and a grill and a beautiful galley-style sink. So this site, when the clients brought it to us, we knew it was going to be something really special because it had this gorgeous backyard or we suspected it would have a gorgeous backyard. It was heavily overgrown, lots of dead old trees and undergrowth. And this porch will open up when they’re entertaining. It connects to the terrace. It connects to the backyard. So from the porch, we enter into their living room with a beautiful fireplace. And then we have on the other side, opening up into that space, a beautiful new billiard room. The homeowner had a design image that she really liked for wine bottle storage. And we tasked the cabinet guys with this.
Design, and we asked them to put a different edge on the front of the cabinets and inside, and they did it, and I think it looks really great. It’s a really fun design feature. From our billiard room, we have a really nice connection here to our family room space. We wanted to make sure that all the primary spaces on the first floor had a really great connection to the backyard, and that was a really important thing that we wanted to incorporate in the space.
