Welcome back to the Evanston Mansion Renovation Series.
We are back in the great room, living room.
You might remember this room from previous videos. It was dark, dark, dark red.
We had a stained ceiling. And we had lots of applied panel molding that was weird shapes and weird sizes that had to do with the former owner’s art pieces.
Similarly to what we saw in the dining room, we’ve painted all the trim in the ceiling white, nice clean white. And it’s amazing what a lighter paint color does.
In an effort to sort of brighten things up and also get rid of the sconces that were in this room before, we’ve added recessed lighting.
We’ll have a chandelier that’s going to hang over a big seating group.
And we also have another light here in the center coffer. It’s going to be a mono-point light fixture.
And what that’s going to do, it’s going to actually directionally aim light towards a piece of artwork that’s going to hang over the original mantel.
If you’ve missed any episodes of this incredible journey, go back and watch from the beginning.
