So, on the exterior of the house, we’re doing a lot of stone. A lot of the first floor and a few high gables. The front of the wall here will be full stone. We have two different blends here. One is called Polar Chunk and another is Valder. They’re different costs, different quarries, but together they make the beautiful blend you see on the house here. This is a palette of Polar Chunks. You can see not a lot of similar shapes, not a lot of similar sizes. Then we move over to a palette of the Valders. All square. perfectly fitting together. You’ve got a little bit of variation, still keeps the same kind of color tone, but a totally different kind of stone. Our stone is locally quarried from Wisconsin and it’ll work its way all the way up our chimney.
In the back you can see the transition beginning to form between masonry and stucco. The guys are currently putting on the weatherproof barrier behind the stucco and then they’ll start with their metal lath and that’ll be stapled throughout the entire house where there’s going to be stucco. All of our masonry headers are rough sawn cedar timbers. There’s a copper drip cap over the top. Both of those are going to age with weather. The copper’s gonna get that green patina that you see, and the cedar’s gonna age a nice gray color, and it’s really gonna go well with the style of the house.
