Jeff Eichhorn, AIA
North Shore and Chicago Architect
I am a Chicago architect. And I am a Chicagoan through and through. A lifelong Cubs fan of Irish and German heritage, I have loved the architecture of this incredible city since childhood. I live in a classic Chicago bungalow that I have restored with my own hands and an eye for the original details.
After earning my Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I worked for 12 years as a Project Designer and then Associate Principal at a design build firm on the North Shore, before moving on to a smaller practice of architecture. I provide dedicated service to clients and their dreams, and see my purpose as an architect to interpret their dreams in a way that is beautiful, practical and valuable.

Attention to detail is my modus operandi. I dedicate countless hours to the finite details of each individual project; on anything from structural details to cabinetry construction. No detail is too small and I am constantly in pursuit of knowledge to bring new means and methods to the SSDB team. In recent years I became a self-certified Architect with the City of Chicago, requiring a record of successful work in the City and a rigorous training course.
In my free time you may find me rock climbing or enjoying a finely-crafted Manhattan with my wife, Mary, a career public school teacher. Aidan, Clare and Goose (everyone’s favorite fur baby) round out the clan. We usually have at least one museum membership going, and regularly get out to Chicago games and events. The whole family has joined the foodie culture, getting out to new restaurants, cooking together and entertaining extended family.
“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
