Brandon Kane, Estimator/Assistant Project Manager

In May of 2024, I was rapidly approaching the end of my student career at the University of Iowa. Not knowing what I wanted to do after school, I quickly accepted a job in sales. I soon came to realize that this career was not for me. Luckily, in my job hunt, I got in contact with the members of Scott Simpson Design+Build. After my first interview with the team, I knew where I wanted to be. The excitement and energy that this team brings to the table each and every day is what makes this job something very special and important to me. With the little experience I had when starting, this team welcomed me with open arms, and I am extremely grateful for them.

Now, I work hard as an estimator for the projects here at SSDB. I try to give everything in life, nothing but my hardest work and dedication, and this job is no different. I look to become the best version of myself through learning and growth. As Tom Kenny says, “Look to become 1% better every day”. I am thankful for the opportunity this group has provided. I have learned so much and have had a blast doing what I do, which is what I think work should be all about.

The environment of welcoming, warmth, patience and knowledge, along with the friendships I have made along the way are things that I would not trade away. I look forward to growing with this company, and seeing what I can accomplish with the help of these excellent people that surround me every day.
